Sharing Meaningful Stories, One Pedal Stroke at a Time

Happy New Year After Finishing My Ride Across Europe

Hi everyone, apologies for my long breaks between posts on the blog. But, I wanted to officially share here that I finished my ride across Europe (from Finland to Portugal), and I’m now back at home in New Mexico, USA and celebrated the holidays with my family. After some of the toughest last days of riding along the western Portuguese coast, and a truly ridiculous, adventurous, and somehow fitting final day, I rode into Lisbon, Portugal on December 14. It felt like a dream after traveling through ten countries over 6 months on my bike, the Praça do Comércio square just along the Duoro river in Lisbon opened up in front of me, and I stopped my bike amongst the bustling crowds of people and just smiled.

Wishing everyone a happy new year and an adventurous and meaningful 2025. This past year was truly a wild ride for me, and I’m so grateful for all of the new experiences I had and lessons I learned. It was a year filled with some of the most joyful, rewarding moments of my life, but also some of the most challenging. Thank you to everyone that made this year so special for me, and everyone that supported and followed or was somehow a part of my journey!

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing all the final stories from my journey across Europe, both my personal experiences and stories from the adventure as well as stories from the independent living organizations and disability activists I met across Spain and Portugal. Happy New Year, and here’s to many more adventures into the new year and beyond!
